Abstrakt
Język zmienia się w niespotykanie szybkim tempie dzięki internetowi i mediom społecznościowym. Nowe odmiany języka angielskiego rozwinęły się w ciągu zaledwie kilku dekad, a wraz z nimi ewoluował zalew nowych słów i nowatorskich sposobów używania języka angielskiego. Od momentu swojej międzynarodowej premiery w 2017 roku platforma społecznościowa TikTok odgrywa ważną rolę w przyspieszaniu rozwoju nowych odmian języka angielskiego. Unikalne algorytmiczne rekomendacje treści TikToka umożliwiają wiralowość, która ma konsekwencje dla używania języka, w szczególności używania języka angielskiego. Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na angielskim czasowniku give i analizuje jego nowe zmiany strukturalne i semantyczne zaobserwowane na TikToku. Czasownik give na TikToku wydaje się rozwijać nowe możliwości strukturalne, nowe wartościowości i nowe znaczenie. Ten nowy język został również zauważony w użyciu poza TikTokiem. Oznacza to, że nowa odmiana języka angielskiego, dostępna online na TikToku, przedostała się do głównych dialektów języka angielskiego.
